Postmodern Jukebox, or PMJ as they’re widely-known, is the world-famous music collective that take modern hits and turns them into classy swing and jazz songs straight from the ‘20s, ’30s, and ’40s. They’ve been doing it for seven years now, and have garnered a worldwide fanbase and racked up more than 1-billion views on YoutTube. This spring, don’t miss them when they come to perform on the Gold Coast.
Scott Bradlee created Postmodern Jukebox in 2011, finding some of the best musicians and singers in the world to recreate modern rock and pop songs into swanky swing and jazz ballads. Postmodern Jukebox do it with stylish panache, and offer a live experience that sends you straight back to the burgeoning swing and jazz scene of the early 20th century.
Over the years, Postmodern Jukebox have covered hundreds of well-known hits, and it seems nothing is impossible for them to recreate. Their long list of “vintage” covers include “Thriller”, “Creepy”, “Sweet Child O’ Mine”, “Shape of You”, “The Final Countdown”, “Smells Like Teen Spirit”, “Don’t Stop Believin’”, “Despacito”, “The Prayer”, “All the Small Things”, “Don’t Look Back in Anger”, “What Is Love”, “Mr Brightside”, and more. Each week, Postmodern Jukebox upload a new cover to their YouTube channel, which has over 3 million subscribers.
This spring, Postmodern Jukebox will be performing a one-off date at The Star Gold Coast, and it’s not to be missed for a nostalgic night of classy swing, jazz, and rat pack-style hits. Take this unforgettable trip down memory lane on September 25.
