ANZAC Day Dawn Service - Burleigh Heads
You can join the RSL Burleigh Heads Subbranch ANZAC Day Dawn Service on April 25. The Dawn Ceremony, a solemn ceremony steeped in history and convention, includes the laying of wreaths, the playing of the Last Post, and the observation of a minute's silence. From 4:15am to 5:30am, be at the Cenotaph Memorial Park in Burleigh Heads.
Next is the primary ANZAC Day Ceremony at Memorial Park Burleigh Heads between 9:15 and 11 a.m. It includes the laying of wreaths, the playing of the Last Post, and the observation of a minute's silence in accordance with time-honored custom.
ANZAC Day Dawn Service - Currumbin and Elephant Rock
From April 17 to 25, 2023, the Currumbin and Elephant Rock at Currumbin Beach will also host several ANZAC Day events.
The lighting of Throwers Bridge & Elephant Roc?k
Throwers Bridge in Currumbin and Elephant Rock at Currumbin Beach will again be illuminated from April 17 to 25, following the positive response from the neighbourhood in prior years. The lighting fixtures act as a visual reminder. Also, the dawn service on ANZAC Day is at Elephant Rock. It represents all Australians who lost their lives in wars and other conflicts and those who have since passed away.
Walk4Remembrance
The Walk4Remembrance returns on April 23. It is a fantastic chance for the community to get together and encourage one another, raise awareness of the soldiers who have died due to their internal battle, end the stigma associated with mental illness, and help fund initiatives that benefit veterans.
This year's 8-kilometre walk starts at Currumbin RSL Reserve and ends at Tugun Surf Life Saving Club, with a halfway station at the creek. All donations raised will be sent to the Veteran Support Center to continue offering veterans high-quality assistance and services.
Dawn Service at Elephant Rock
Elephant Rock on Currumbin Beach is the location of the Currumbin RSL Dawn Service. On April 25, the march will start at 4:35 am, and the dawn service will follow at 5 am. In the vicinity of the ceremonial precinct, the general public has no registration requirement. The dawn service starts at five, so please arrive early.
Currumbin RSL will also hold a mid-morning service at the club's cenotaph. There is no need to register. The march assembly in Winders Park begins at 10:35 am, followed by the procession and cenotaph service at 10:55 am.
Be aware that Anzac Day brings crowds nationwide to the morning ceremonies and marches. Anzac Day falls on a Tuesday this year, so get your accommodation in advance.
